Meet Our Founder
Md. Shahin Miya
Founder and Executive Director
Md. Shahin Miya, our Founder and Executive Director, established DOHPS with a singular vision: to seek out, support, and sustain the brilliant minds who have been left behind by financial or social constraints. Under his leadership, DOHPS works to bridge the gap for talented dropouts and empowers them to achieve their full potential for a sustainable future.
Through his personalized guidance and the organization's need-based educational support, these students are encouraged to lead dignified, honest, and meaningful lives while contributing positively to their communities.
Our Mission
To promote sustainable human development through education, health, and social empowerment of disadvantaged populations. Our main focus is providing robust educational support to vulnerable communities in rural and remote areas.
Our Vision
We envision a society where every individual enjoys equal opportunities for education, health, and a dignified life, regardless of their financial or social constraints.
Our Core Values
Organizational Overview
Established in 2008, Development Organization for Human Potential Sustainability (DOHPS) is dedicated to advancing sustainable development in Bangladesh. We primarily focus on improving access to education for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
In addition to educational assistance, DOHPS offers interest-free financial support to families to help increase household income. We also conduct awareness campaigns on health, hygiene, nutrition, water, and sanitation, alongside engaging in vital initiatives related to climate change adaptation, resilience building, and disaster risk management. Local administrations, community leaders, teachers, parents, and stakeholders actively collaborate with us in implementing these programs.

Our Core Programs
DOHPS identifies the holistic needs of the community. From keeping brilliant but vulnerable students in school to supporting the livelihoods of marginalized families and building homes for destitute women, our priorities ensure a wide-reaching, sustainable impact.
Education Support Program
Counseling and need-based educational assistance for talented students at risk of dropping out.
Health & Nutrition Program
Awareness campaigns on health, hygiene, nutrition, water, and sanitation to improve community well-being.
Disaster Risk & Climate Adaptation
Enhancing community awareness, resilience building, and preparedness for environmental hazards.
Human Rights & Protection
Fostering social security, protecting the marginalized, and empowering women in the community.
Innovation Program
Developing creative, efficient, and forward-thinking solutions for sustainable development.
Youth & Women Empowerment
Guiding the next generation of leaders to rebuild their lives with honor, confidence, and meaningful purpose.
Housing Construction Initiative
Elderly, destitute, and widowed women in our society often live under constant deprivation and uncertainty. Although they are an integral part of the community, the lack of economic stability and social security leaves them feeling helpless and vulnerable. This situation gradually erodes their dignity, self-confidence, and ability to live independently.
DOPS believes that every human being has the right to live with dignity and self-reliance. Guided by this belief, DOPS stands beside these women and works to bring new hope into their lives through careful field-level verification and new construction. This initiative is not merely physical assistance; it is a sustainable effort aimed at restoring social security and creating opportunities for the extreme poor to rebuild their lives with honor.

DOHPS Protiva Bikas Kendro (Hostel)
The DOHPS Protiva Bikas Kendro (Talent Development Center) is a cornerstone of our holistic approach. We understand that academic success is only one part of development. This center provides our 'Brilliants' with crucial skills beyond the classroom, including leadership training, communication workshops, computer literacy, and creative arts.
It's a space for them to collaborate, innovate, and develop the confidence they need to become future leaders, guided by mentors and professionals.
